Quick Start

This page is full documentation of the Settings screen. Quick Start also covers Accounts, while guiding through app setup.

Account

The Account section manages the logged in account, credits used with paid AI providers, and membership status.

It also walks you through the core setup steps for Telosnex:

  1. Sign in.
  2. Set up AI providers.
  3. Set up credits for paid AI providers.
  4. Become a member to save 75% on paid AIs, by getting them at cost. (optional, guests can use paid AI at a markup)
  5. Get Scripts.

Credits

Credits section of Account Screen

Telosnex saves you money through usage-based billing: only charging you only for AI you use, at cost.

Buy credits by using the buttons on the Account screen.

Avoid Apple and Google

You get more credits for your money by purchasing on web, Linux, or Windows. Apple and Google require Telosnex to pay them 30% of any money you pay. Our credit card processor, Stripe, only charges ~5%.

Membership

Membership section of Account Screen

Become a member for $10/month and use paid AIs at cost. Want to try before you buy? Guests can still access paid AI, with a markup, like shopping without a club card.

Scripts

Scripts section of Account Screen

Telosnex uses Scripts to generate AI responses. This section is shown in Settings to remind you to get Scripts, such as Search, Chat, Art. With no Scripts, Telosnex acts like a generic AI chatbot.

The Agent section lets you edit the prompts used to generate UI.

These include:

  • Script Select: Instructions for how to choose a Script for a prompt when Auto is selected in the Magic Wand.
  • Title Chat: instructions for how to create a name for a chat from its prompts. Access by pressing the 3 dot menu at the top of the Chat screen, or, the 3 dot menu next to a Chat on the Chats screen, and select Title.

Press one of them to edit the prompt.

Edit Title Chats prompt

The top of the prompt section tells you what placeholders you can use in the template.

A Reset to Default button appears when the prompt has been edited, which will change the prompt to the one Telosnex recommends.

You can turn off sending logs.

Web Loads

Web Loads section of Settings Screen

This allows you to control how Telosnex loads web pages.

Direct: This establishes a direct connection to web site, download it as if it was a text file. This is faster, but, like Proxy, does not display as much content as Browser.

Proxy: You can use Telosnex's server to load sites. This is useful if you want to load sites that are blocked in your country, or if you want to load sites that are blocked by your network. However, not as much content is displayed as with the Browser setting.

Browser: Default setting. When Telosnex loads sites for search, it loads them using your device's browser. This enables Telosnex to see more content, modern websites usually have content that is only displayed when loaded in a browser.

info

Browser is not available in the Telosnex Web App. Web browser security standards prevent sites from loading other sites.

Web Wait

Web Wait section of Settings Screen

Some websites take a long time to load, or never load, so Telosnex has to give up after a certain amount of time.

You can set this time here.

Increase the time if you are having trouble with web pages not loading. Decrease the time if you want AI answers faster, even if they are less accurate.
