Companion
The Companion contains controls for interacting with the AI assistant, managing your chat history, and customizing your chat experience.
Run Button
Pressing the Run Button sends your prompt to the AI.
Tap it again to stop.
The Run Button icon changes to match the current Script.
The default Script is Auto, which sends the prompt to the AI, and lets the AI decide which Script to use.
Go Button
The Go Button makes it easy to jump to core parts of the app: Chat, Scripts, and Settings.
Magic Wand
The Magic Wand Button controls how the AI processes the prompt, and how much history is sent to the AI.
- Library: Download Scripts. Here you'll find core Scripts, such as Search, Chat, and Art. When you download a Script, it is yours, you can edit it as you like.
- My Scripts: Create, edit, and delete your Scripts.
- Robot and Palette: Easily change the AIs you use for chat and art. This is the same as changing them in Settings > AIs.
- History: Control how much history is sent to the AI. The more history you send, the more context the AI has to work with. It is also more expensive, and more likely to get stuck / repeat wrong answers. A marker is placed in the chat history to show the last message the AI will see. Marker indicating last chat message AI will see.
- Show Code: Scripts are a series of prompts, for example, Search first asks AI to create a search query, then asks AI to answer. Other AI providers hide this from you. Telosnex lets you hide steps in a Script, and show them when you want to see them.
Auto
Auto is special: it isn't a Script, it chooses a Script.
It sends the prompt, and descriptions of all Scripts, to AI and lets the AI decide which Script to use.
See Settings > Agent > Script Select to customize the prompt sent to the AI.
If you have no Scripts, the prompt is treated like generic AI chat, and sent to the cheapest AI of your chosen provider.
If you have 1 Script, the prompt is sent to that Script.
The AI also can rewrite the prompt: for example, if you asked "What time is it in Tokyo?", then asked "What's the weather like there?", the AI might rewrite the second prompt to "What's the weather like in Tokyo?".
Files
Telosnex lets you share files and photos with AI.
You can drag and drop files onto Telosnex to add them. Or, tap the Files button.
Telosnex does not store your files or upload them to the cloud. They are only sent to the AI, and Telosnex only integrates with AI providers that respect your privacy.
See Files for full details, this is a brief overview of the UI:
- View: Press a file or photo to view it.
- Remove: Press the remove icon to remove a file or photo.
- Read
- AI Select: Use the prompt to pick relevant information from files. If this is chosen, you can also choose how many pages to select.
- Full Scan: Send the entire file as the prompt. If this is chosen:
- An estimate of cost & time, based on the current Script, is shown. If Auto is selected, the estimate is based on your AI provider.
- You can also choose how files are split. (see Files: Full Scan)
- Photos:
- The photo is sent to AI, with the prompt, and the AI is asked to analyze the photo. Then, the AI is asked to answer the prompt.
- If your AI provider supports photos, the photos are sent to that AI. If not, the photos are sent to Anthropic's Claude Haiku, the cheapest AI that supports photos.
tip
On Android & iOS devices with cameras, there is also a Take Photo button.
